The Grasstree Gathering is a network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian leaders from a variety of locations and denominations across Australia, and this year they’re gathering in Sydney to learn from their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian leaders and Elders, to be encouraged and refreshed in their ministries and networked for the future strengthening of the Australian Church. Find out more here: http://grasstreegathering.org.au/
There are a number of opportunities to get involved in supporting the Gathering –
VISITING OUR SERVICE ON 18TH MARCH IN THE MORNING
Aboriginal leaders will be visiting our service on the morning of the 18th of March. We’ll get to hear about the Gathering and share our usual morning service with them.
ATTEND THE CELEBRATION NIGHT:
Come along to the celebration night of the gathering on Monday 19th of March where these leaders will share with you in worship and testimony. The event will be held at Knox Grammar School’s Cultural Centre from 7-9pm. More info here: http://www.grasstreegathering.org.au/celebration
BILLET A LEADER OR TWO?
Before and after the Grasstree Gathering Aboriginal Christian leaders will be hosted by Sydney Churches. We’re keen to be able to provide billeting for some leaders. Billeting includes supporting participants with transportation, food and a place to sleep. If you’d be able to host two participants on the nights of 15th March and/or 20th & 21st March, Jess would be very interested to hear from you.
