This Sunday (July 5th) marks the start of NAIDOC week. NAIDOC Week gatherings and activities are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to recall and recognise the history, the culture, and the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for each and every Australian to learn about First Nations traditions and histories and participate in celebrating the oldest, continuous living culture on earth.

At St. George’s this week, our liturgy and worship will address some of the themes of NAIDOC and our special guest – to conclude the celebration, is Uncle Dr. Ray Minniecon. Uncle Ray has kindly agreed to speak at our 3.00pm service on July 12th. You can read more about Uncle Ray here Pastor Ray Minniecon | Serving Country.
