Un-imagi-nation

If you went down to the woods today
You’d be infor a big surprise
Should any woods at all remain.

We enlightened humans prefer to pay
For entertainment systems and climate-controlled
Private dwellings with pristine views
Over mirror-images of themselves.

The tree of knowledge bears gain and pain.

Gone are the woods of our naïve selves
With glimpses of wild things and hints of elves
Or a teddy bears picnic day.

Thoughts on hubris versus humility while passing
Centennial Park on the bus 23/3/2011 – Robyn
