Ancient and unchanging
We cannot be isolated from you.
For the foreseeable future
there will be no shut-down
of your extravagant love,
You will not lock yourself away
from our panicked cries for help.
We can be assured that your
essential services will keep running:
The sun will rise tomorrow,
The earth will spin, precisely and miraculously,
And the tides will wash in and out,
Autumn has not been postponed,
Mass gathering of stars will not be cancelled,
The trees will continue to reach up towards the light.
Loving God,
bring love to our rapidly evolving fear,
bring peace amidst our pandemic.
