We’re excited to announce a renewal of focus for each of our services in 2019 in light of congregational priorities, local opportunities and staff changes. Our services are now:
- a 9:30am traditional Holy Communion service
- a 3pm intergenerational Afternoon Service
More details on each of the services and the coming month program below.
Morning Service: 9:30am (See What’s On page for any changes)
A traditional liturgical service with scripture readings, prayers, hymns, sermon and weekly holy communion. Most people hang around afterwards for morning tea and discussion. We’d love you to join us.
Over the next 6 weeks we will be led by Dr Byron Smith for Morning Prayer (Feb 3, 17, March 3) and Rev David Crain for Holy Communion (Feb 10, 24, March 10). We will be changing our morning service time to 9.30am. The new start time will commence on the 17 of March. Rev Philip Bradford will start at St George’s from March 17th and will celebrate Holy Communion in the morning each week from that time. All welcome.
Afternoon Service: 3 – 4pm (See What’s On page for any changes)
A creative & joyful service with intergenerational participation, blending readings from scripture, music, prayers, talks and discussion. We celebrate communion once a month. We have a regular learning time for Children, you can find out more about it on our Children Page. Most people hang around afterwards for afternoon tea and discussion. We’d love you to join us.
As of next week (February 3rd) our evening service will become an afternoon all-age service exploring life following Jesus. This service will be inclusive of children with a dedicated teaching time for kids. It is seeking to combine liturgy, warmth, thought-provoking teaching and creativity. The service will begin at 3pm and conclude with afternoon tea around 4pm. Once a month it will dovetail with Something New (our monthly children & families gathering). All welcome.
