We’re super excited to welcome Lisa Sharon Harper to our church in September.
Lisa Sharon Harper is a speaker, writer and activist from the USA. She is the founder and president of FreedomRoad.us, a consulting group dedicated to shrinking the narrative gap in our nation by convening forums and experiences that bring common understanding, common commitment, and common action toward a just world.
Lisa will be joining us at
our evening service on the 2nd of September
and at a PEACEtalks on the 6th of September
On the 2nd of September, Lisa will speak on: The good news for worried citizens
How do we sustain ourselves when we feel out of step with our leaders and despairing at all that needs to be done in the world? Lisa will encourage us to stay the journey, inspiring us despite our disconnection and distress with the news of Jesus’ very good gospel.
Lisa Sharon Harper writes:
Shalom is what God declared. Shalom is what the Kingdom of God looks like. Shalom is when all people have enough. It’s when families are healed. It’s when churches, schools, and public policies protect human dignity. Shalom is when the image of God is recognized in every single human. Shalom is our calling as followers of Jesus’s gospel. It is the vision God set forth in the Garden and the restoration God desires for every relationship.
What can we do to bring shalom to our nations, our communities, and our souls? Lisa Sharon Harper’s work explores what “very good” can look like today, even after the Fall. Because despite our anxious minds, despite division and threats of violence, God’s vision remains: Wholeness for a hurting world. Peace for a fearful soul. Shalom.
Lisa will also be speaking at ‘JUST WOMEN’ 10am-12pm on Sat 8th Sept at St Barnabas’ Broadway. More info here.
